Looking Ahead, Public Sees Little Getting Done on Hill
Respondents were asked, “Have Republicans and Democrats in Washington been working together to solve problems OR have they been bickering and opposing one another more than usual?” Only 8 percent of respondents said the parties were working together more, while 79 percent said they were bickering more.

At this early stage in the election cycle, political operatives in both parties believe that the Republican chances for winning back the Senate are relatively high, according to the latest National Journal Political Insiders Poll.

Gallup Poll: Americans Say Lobbyists, Banks, Federal Government Too Powerful
According to the majority of Americans, several of the country’s largest organizations in both the public and private sector are too powerful. More than two-thirds of Americans in a recent Gallup poll say lobbyists, banks, and major corporations have too much power. Meanwhile, 58 percent of respondents say the same thing about the federal government.
